Dogs Banned From Carr Mill.... Is Carrboro ready for another battle?....

Only days after Bruce was given his license to dance back a new controversy has arisen. This one should be a less
formidable opponent and with the community plain tuckered out from the last battle, The Carrboro News sees little resistance to this new set of laws.

On this day the mother of one of The Carborro reporters, looking clearly upset and rattled came up to this reporter. "Carr Mill Mall won't let me leave my dog outside while I shop!".

My first thoughts were "Oh no...not again! I don't think the town can handle another Nathan/Carr Mill controversey....especially with so little time for the open wounds to heal". I immediately thought back on the Democrats failure to impeach Reagan for negotiating with terrorists by trading arms for hostages in order to win the November election because they didn't think the country would be able to handle it. Like America, Carrboro could also not handle another controversy.... and on top of that.....a dog sitting outside of a store doesn't illicit the same image as Bruce Free Dancing on the lawn.

The Center of the Unaccompanied Dog Controversy
She may only be 13 inches tall but her bite is worse than her bark

But who will stand up for the dogs. The same dogs that were given membership privileges at Weaver Street Market will not be able to come to Weaver Street without their owners. On second thought, I think we're going to have a battle here. The reason Nathan doesn't want the dogs left unattended is the same reason that he may not want to pick this fight.

Dogs are vicious, undisciplined, illogical and do not make very good enemies. If angered and driven into a corner there is no telling how they will react so there may be a huge battle brewing, which will make the Dancing Bruce escapade look like a dance in the park. Dogs have a pack mentality(much more dangerous than the flock mentality of humans) and if you cross one dog, you've crossed them all. The bite of a dog is much more painful than any demonstration, petition or harsh words of a State Representative. A pack of dogs through the use of their normal bodily functions could make a bigger mess of the lawn than 50 Bruces performing....

And that's just the dogs.....but remember... the dog is man's best friend(notice how they didn't come to the aid of Bruce, but we're all willing to come to the aid of them!)....so into the equation comes man(and lots of them, at that). Come to think of it...I think that Carr Mill Mall has a serious problem in their hands and they will need to search for a diplomatic solution to implement before the attack dogs are sent in.

It's hard to say how this battle will shape up or if it will even reach battle-status but we'll keep you posted.
